Who We Are.

John Rogers :: john@projekta.co / linkedin / @brainlove

John Rogers has extensive experience of the independent music world via his work as Brainlove Records, an indie label he founded in 2003, and as a senior music publicist at various firms since 2007.

His dedicated work in artist development and promotion (e.g. helping Napoleon IIIrd and Mat Riviere go from new DIY solo projects to acclaimed internationally touring acts) make this foray into music management both natural and overdue.

As a publicist (at Nile-On, Ramp Industry, Crowd DNA, Charm Factory, and currently, as Head of Digital at Freeman PR) John's clients have included everyone from Warp to One Little Indian to Moshi Moshi to Universal; from helping launch international events such as Ja Ja Ja and Reykjavik Music Mess to promoting established festivals like Slotsfjell, La Route Du Rock and Eden Sessions.

John has worked widely in other areas of the industry: as music editor of Snipe (nominated for "Best Editor" and "Best Publication" in the 2010 RoTD awards), as a music writer (Drowned In Sound, Stool Pigeon, The Line Of Best Fit, Reykjavik Grapevine and The Fly), and as a promoter, guest curator & DJ (Iceland Airwaves, Club NME, White Heat, Woolfire Festival, Club Motherfucker, Swn Festival, Brainlove Festival). Rogers has also spoken on panels & workshops at Liverpool Sound City, Unconvention, Tallinn Music Week and You Are In Control. Originally from an art background, he also creates artwork and does design, such as the cover & packaging for Napoleon IIIrd's "Christiania".
